I need help identifying a Buick Gsx. I've uploaded aome pictures for you all to see. The car is being represented as a 1971 Gsx. Thank you, Jesse
No paperwork and does not have a low body number. Red flag right from the start. Buyer beware. The trim tag is difficult to read, what is the paint code?
There is some good info here, especially from Duane on page 2 of this thread: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...old-at-bpg-in-2009.197414/page-2#post-1583890
I believe this car was posted on the GS owners Facebook page earlier today? If so, it’s a clone based on your pictures. ‘72 grille, Saturn yellow (not a 71 color), wrong stripes, etc. looked like a decent project car
It has a high body # on firewall body tag should have a low #. That is first red flag, so probably not a GSX.
vin doesn’t tell you if it’s a stage 1 in ‘70 or ‘71. Only one VIN for all GS (350, 455, stage 1) in ‘71.
At this point looks like a need a build sheet to verify if its anything below a stage 1. Thank you all !
If it has a TS code block, or BB/OW trans with the numbers vin on either you can authenticate it as a stage 1. This link outlines what to look for: http://www.stage1registry.com/stage1info.html
How much is he asking? I saw it was best offer. In my opinion you would be buying a GS project. The body seemed solid, but I didn’t really look at the pictures in detail. $4-4500 project at absolute best.
I can't find it there, could you post a direct link please? https://www.facebook.com/groups/BuickGSOwners
