An impressive collection of ’69 Buick Gran Sports was assembled for the Class of ‘69 display at the 2019 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) show in Rosemont, IL last weekend. The ’69s are often overlooked but this year they were prominently displayed to the muscle car world and looked fantastic doing it. Pulling together 10 rare ’69 Buicks of this caliber is no small feat but Ajesh Parikh was able to make it happen. The fact that Ajesh was able to convince the MCACN show to provide prime floor space for a row of 10 ’69 Buicks is an accomplishment in itself. That was followed by the daunting task of finding 10 beautiful ’69s to fill that space and compelling the owners to bring them to the show. Many thanks to the list of owners below for the hard work and expense of bringing the cars to the show. Paul Haddock – Charlotte, NC – Red Stage 1 Hardtop Bob Hentschel – Peotone, IL – Blue GS 400 Convertible Terry Felt – Kensington, PA – White Stage 1 Convertible Gary & Sandy Paine – Chardon, OH – Blue GS 400 Stage 2 Hardtop Duane Heckman – Rutledge, PA – Blue GS 400 Motion Hardtop Bill & Brenda Gorman – Iowa – Blue GS 400 Convertible Kenneth Bogner – Hudson, WI – Yellow Stage 1 Convertible Brothers Collection – USA – Black Stage 1 Convertible Mike Sobotka – Jerome, ID – Red Stage 1 Hardtop Dave Tumas – Kernersville, NC – Blue GS 400 Convertible All of these ‘69s stood tall on the show floor and the owners represented the Buick community with class. A fine lineup of ‘69s like this will not likely be assembled again anytime soon so here are some photos for anyone that did not have the privilege of seeing them in person.
A super collection , Thanks to all the owners and Ajesh for representing the Stepchildren so well . More inspiration to get back in the garage.
Thanks for the pics. It sure was a great line-up. People were also talking about the fact that there were (Qty 5) 4-speeds there. I was very happy to be part of the group. I think Terry also won "The Best Buick" award. His car was simply restored over the top. Duane
The Step children finally have earned some major exposure. The Motion car was parked next to the 3 cars from the cover of Muscle Car Review. Terry was also asked to bring his over the top 69 to the Greenwich Concours in 2020. They only chose 2 cars from the MCACN show and have only 16 Muscle cars on the grass. What an honor to be asked.
Thank you Gary for posting, I want to thank all of the owners for coming to the show. I've attended the past 8 shows and every year it amazes me the quality of cars that come every year with very few repeats. The weekend goes very quick but everyone seems to have a wonderful experience. Try to plan to come out next year , it's always the weekend before thanksgiving . November 21-22 2020
This Event was awseome, If you ever have the chance to attend or show a car at MCACN - Go - You won't be disappointed at all. Huge thanks to Ajesh for setting this whole thing up and the dinner, very well done. So many people commenting on the line-up of 69's and how they never seen so many 69's at one time with 5 being 4 Speed cars. Most likely the last time that will happen. Duane's Motion car took center stage and I don't believe he stopped answering questions all day, it drew attention as soon as you walked up. All the Buick's looked awesome lined up. Dave Tumas deserved his own award for moving/lining up the cars, setting the barriers and then judging most of the day Saturday. Thanks for all the work you do for the Buick brothers. Was also great meeting with many V8 Buick people for the first time. The car as mentioned above did way better than I ever thought it would, I was surprised it got so much attention, scored 997/1000. I put a ton of work into it and just glad I represented the Buick name well. Many thanks...
While I liked them all, Your vert Terry is one of my favorites simply because I saw your car before your hard work! Beautiful job on the restoration !
