    Hello again.

Okay, I am not ignoring you nor am I trying to be glib…. I understand that everyone is frustrated and I will say that this does not happen to every tire.
Part of it comes down to the construction process.. and unfortunately an excess of white rubber was forced out in the vents and the white flash at the bead.
Yes, these tires are made in the US in small batches. It is a skilled job and unfortunately, since Covid, it has been difficult for everything to come out perfect. Blem tires are pulled from the line, but these are not considered to be blems.
Once you use the Sharpie, you should be good for at least a year before having to retouch them. As for the white flashing in the bead, find a razor blade and remove it. Again, I am not wanting to sound glib, but it is not difficult to take the time to get a production piece and take it to the higher level…

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Return them and get some Cooper Cobra's. Put the black side out and get those fake polyglass letters. Money in your pocket, a better driving car, and one less thing to worry about.

Also don't support a company that sells a garbage product, made right here in the USA.

    Agree!
600 a piece for a NON radial tire that makes the car steer goofy??
I’d rather have BFG TAs or Cooper Cobra RADIALS

Update, Kelsey is taking the tires back, all eight. Some conversation was necessary to make this happen but it's the right thing to do. They are suppose to replace them with tires that don't need to be manipulated to beyond washing the blue off the white letters. You can see I don't agreed that trimming excessive rubber from the bead or sealing/runout area of the tire is acceptable and I wont even get started on the white dots on tires your trying to get to the highest level. If it was a driver presa I'd run radials. Saying these are low run tires should make them the BEST not worst. At the price point as well should make them the BEST. I hope Kelsey can make this right not just for me but for all of us.

Well look at it this way. At least you can wash the blue off of the white letters and have the letters remain white. My last set of BFG T/A Radials the letters are as brown as dog excrement. I won't belabor that subject because it has been covered ad nauseam in another thread but my point is that they made it difficult for customers. Exchanges were spotty and excuses about it not being a safety issue. Safety? lmao Yeah I get it, safety is important, but they and the entire planet knows that BFG's are purchased for the day-2 look 99% of the time.

I see this on several tires lately. Honestly I didn’t even notice it until it was pointed out on this thread. The photos I’m posting are on a set of reproduction bias ply tires…BFG Silvertowns. I would be surprised if anyone walked by these at MCACN would notice the tiny white spots. I’ll even leave them white to see if anyone does.

To me, it’s not worth all the extra trouble to dismount the tires, send them back, and remount.

    Have sharpie, will travel.

Update, Kelsey sent the replacements 8 tires, 7 had same issue. Turns out Kelsey does not produce these specific tires. Shipped directly from 3rd party whoever that is. Returned, full refund staying with BFG, for now. At least there not brown yet. We'd payed blem price and dealt with it but not list. Hopefully someday it gets corrected.

That was gonna be my next question! lol Went out to start my GS the other day and from 20 feet away you couldn't even tell the letters were facing out they have gotten so bad. I have never seen anything like it. Those BFG white letters are 100% of the reason I bought them. I couldn't care less about tread design etc. It's all about the day 2 white letter design and look for these classic cars, and it was a complete waste of money.

Has any tried some of the rubber dressing spray to see if it will get the white paint off the tips?

It's not paint. It's rubber that is extruded through the tits. Only way to hide it is to either sharpie it or dab with black paint.

I checked some of the older G60's at MCACN this weekend and some of them have a few spots. You have to be looking for it, though.

They'll resell them, but probably not at a discount.

Yes, I have come to expect built in obsolescence these days in about everything.
I was thinking about all the original appliances that were in my 100year old Moms 1966 home today as I was putting a beach towel around our THIRD “dish washer”.
If I get 5 years out of any appliance I feel like I need to celebrate!

What a typical BS blame it on Covid response....sounds like The manufacturer whoever they are the distributor Kelsey needs to hire a two kids from the local high school to clip tits and operate some sharpies.....but instead you ignore the issue..blame it on the consumer for "expecting too much" and of course the Covid cop out......

Or.... wait for it...address and fix the issue...call Cooper America and ask how they keep the white where it's supposed to be???.... I mean the set we bought in 2003 are still perfect with no white heads....as are the 3 original 1970 G60s.....
