Ok first not to brag but we got two sets of the latest run of Goodyear Polyglas tires. On the list for about 2 year shipped direct. Problem! Washed blue off first tire and these weird white dots came up. I think where the small tits falloff when washing. This ain't right and there getting a call but my question is anyone else seen or run into this?
...bummer, and since problem has existed since '21, doubt you'll get a resolution. Looks like you'll have to touch them up with black tire paint if they annoy you (they'd annoy me for sure)...
Now you have me worried. I received a set of new G60s from Kelsey Tire a couple weeks ago and I’ve not unwrapped them yet. I’ll hold my breath as I unwrap them tomorrow to check for these white dots.
Do they make those in Akron Ohio at Goodyear factory? NASCAR tires are still made there from last I knew. They would at least have half chance of being made right but now you would have to wonder what they are doing with the white dots, does look stupid and each time you clean the letters the white dots will reappear. Go to a print shop and ask for rubber base black ink that might last a little longer. Takes some time to dry maybe a day or two, this would probably last longer than a sharpie.
Just unwrapped one of the new G60s that arrived a couple weeks ago. It has the same white freckles as the tires picture by flh73. Mine also l has a white band around the wheel opening but that will probably be covered by the wheel lip, I hope.
Yup just made the call. First to Coker to see what they get (yes bought many wheels and tires from them whom recommended I go direct to Kelsey). They haven't received any of there orders this year can't compare but friendly. Can't believe they would sell these to their customers. Thought maybe direct orders might get blems. Kelsey's answer: send email to Kelsey@kelsey.com. If one is wrong they're all wrong or bad. Also white rubber flashing could cause balance issues should not be left on the bead. Email sent...
I got my first set in 2004 for $160 each! Then some more at $210 each, then $250 each! I feel sorry for any one doing a car these days.
I live in Northern Virginia, the Classic car labor rate is $140 per hour. That doesn't include the parts cost, including the 30% the shop up-charges on the parts to cover warranty shipments that sometimes have to be sent back. Yes, in the year 2023, cost to renovate or do upgrades is very expensive.
