Got somewhere today, the engine and car are permanently mated, headers are a nightmare to say the least, 100% must be in the car before the engine, 4-speed installed and hole cut for shifter. More tomorrow!
You’re probably gonna have to get some kind of vacuum canister for the brakes. You probably have 6 inch of vacuum.
Some 20+ years ago I ran the Wolverine Stage 2 cam copy with 67 heads converted to Stage 1 valves, B4B intake, GM HEI distributor Holley 850 DP, headers, 3000 stall convertor, 4.11 gears and power drum brakes. Static compression was 10:1. I had no issues with vacuum for the brakes. The engine/cam combo can be tuned to work with power brakes.
Still thrashing to get the car done for BG, been quite a journey, still have the 4-speed linkage to sort out, drive shaft being made , trans tunnel to finish and put the interior back in, and finish installation of the 3” exhaust. But best news is I now have a ‘72 Stage 1 & 2 in Flame Orange in the same garage.
So here is the finished engine, pretty much sorted out , leak free and will start without a choke. Still things to do on the car but engine is done.
Today I installed the PYPES 3” stainless exhaust with GRANATELLI cutouts. Not really bad at all, only 3 cuts required per side.
