Update: The virgin shortblock is together and painted, the heads are fresh with new valves & guides by Mike of TA Performance.
I have installed a line-lock, not because it’s a race car, but because I like smoky burnouts and with a 4-speed it’s a bit easier.
Finally back in Arizona to do the final assembly, plan to have it running on the test stand by Saturday .
Today was a long time coming, break-in of the engine, the carb is a trusted Holley not the correct one going on once in the car, also not the correct points distributor either. Makes 93 psi just priming the pump with a drill. Video to follow.
Congrats I’m glad everything went well. Looking forward to the video. I’m still waiting for an FN Dyno what a joke on my side.
The puff of smoke on the last video is oil hitting the header because I put the fuel block off plate on upside down! I got a good what a “dumb ****” look from Mike on that one! Thanks and praises to Mike & John of T/A Performance for helping me make this once in a lifetime dream come true. Mike opened the doors of his shop so that I could be hands on with building this vintage motor, and their sharing of incredible knowledge, and attention to detail that’s just amazing, I am humbled and grateful. I’ve done many motors in my life, but the level of quality Mike goes to on everything he sends out the door is second to none.
Why are you at a standstill? If I can help let me know, and yes this is challenging for sure but it’s all just problem solving isn’t it? My main problem is time, I can’t make more of it!
