Another unbeaten bites the dust in Pittsburgh

Pour the champagne, '72 Dolphins. Your 17-0 run remains the only perfect season in NFL history. Ship some of the bubbly to the Steelers, though. For the second straight week, Pittsburgh dominated an unbeaten team, this time thrashing the Eagles 27-3 Sunday at Heinz Field without Duce Staley.

Bus leaves the garages, helps Steelers run over Eagles

Jerome Bettis proved he's not a broken-down Bus. Bettis has been a premier NFL runner for years and is No. 6 in career rushing but, after being relegated to a goal-line specialist role for most of the season, appeared to be nearing the end of his career. But with Duce Staley out with a sore hamstring after gaining 100 or more yards in four of his previous five games, Bettis stepped in

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...I think it's safe to say until New England is dethroned, they're STILL the #1 team in the NFL....and, they just put a nice beating on the "Greatest Show On Turf", in their own house, with a depleted secondary..

We'll see you and coach Scower....I mean Cower in the playoffs.....

The Pats were spanked by my Beagels in pre-season, and I'd say Cin is no better than a 8-8 team at best. :bglasses:

Pitt was very fortunate to get Rothlesberger, he will be a NFL star for many years to come. I watched him in College at Miami (OH), you could tell from his freshman year he was NFL bound.

I told people around here we would be better off with Rothlesberger than Palmer before this season started (and I think a lot of Palmer)! Folks around here are starting to agree with me. :eek2:

The Pats are a solid team, but don't expect a repeat this time. :Smarty:

You are going to judge the Pats on a meaningless preseason game with Cincy? Come on now....The Pats were all banged up last week at Pitt. They got a little healthier this week and put 40 on St. Louis......"The greatest show on turf".... Today it was "The Silence of the Rams"...Oh yeah, we're still #1!!!! This team is full of injuries but we have the best coaching staff in the league... Let us get healthy and send on up any team to Foxboro for the Playoffs and we'll see who is #1. GO PATS!!!

    Let's hear a Hu-Dey .....................

I have been a long time Bengals fan, and never left them, although I have have about 10 years plus reasons to do so. Last week, the Broncs and then to put a whoopin' on Dallas. It has been an awesome 2 weeks. Next week will be a challenge at the deadskins house.

Had to jump in here for my team. Laugh if you want, but we have proven that you will never underestimate the Cincy team.

    Go Steelers!

Blowing out the top team in the NFL in back-to-back weeks. First New England, then Philly became #1 and the Steelers from Roethlisburgh blew them out. The Steelers became the first team in NFL history to beat undefeated teams in back-to-back weeks (teams with a minimum of 6 games played).

Big Ben looking like an NFL MVP. Duce putting up MVP numbers if he, not The BUS running in from the 2. The O-line looking great even without their other Pro Bowl caliber Guard. The top WR tamdem in the NFL. Of course, great D, especially their young Safeties.

I'm tired of hearing about the Patriots losing because of an average running back and a Pro bowl CB out. The Steelers had 3 Pro bowlers and 2 other starters out.

    Go Steelers!

No doubt, Pittsburgh is much improved, however, let's see what happens when this rookie QB gets his clocked cleaned AND lets see what happens come playoff time, when and if these two teams meet....

Welp, youns probably know the Steelers are my favorite, but I also love the Pats. I really believe the Steelers are the class of the NFL right now. They will almost for certain play the Pats for the AFC title. As for pre-season I'd say the Pats are the smartest pre-season team in the league. Trying to win pre-season games at the risk of losing the best players for the season is not smart. So I say Steelers are #1. And New England is right behind. But new England has the better coach.

Such a bizarre time to be a sports fan in Boston right now. The Pats are a steamroller, the Red Sox won the World Series, and there's no NHL games

That was an awesome game to watch, I still can't really believe they are so good right now. I've been a Steeler fan all my life, and for years I've had to watch as the quarterback would go back to throw and I would be thinking "Oh man, who's that one gonna go to?" Now with Rothliesberger in there, and he goes back to pass, I'm thinking, "Cool, it's gonna be a first down!" I hope they can stay on their game. The offensive coordinator has been calling some good games. And the defense is finally starting to put pressure on the quarterbacks again. This is a great year. Plus, Dallas sucks! :Brow:

    Hehehehe

I was just tryin to get you New England guys fired up. You can't expect the rest of us to pull for your team, now that SOX actually WON, & the Pats 2 out of the last 3 yrs..... I had pulled for all 3 of those wins, but the party is over! now.

It is too early to talk SUPER BOWL for either team yet.... Ben R. is a lot like Brett F, and Ben will be One of the best qb's in the NFL for a long time. Ben can take a Hit . :Smarty: :3gears:
