Is a stock 1971 or 1972 skylark 8.5 rear 30 or 28 spline ? What would total and shipping be for Yukon Dura grip and Rebuild kit be to 27284 ? I have some GM 3:23 gears I would like to possibly use.
Would this kit be a good way to covert my differential from 28 to a 30 spline ? IE extra strength for a heavy car ?
It would be an excellent way to do that - Jim also has very reasonably priced brand new 30 spline bolt in axles and bearings that are correct for an 8.5. Ask him nice and I'm willing to bet he'd press all the bearings for you before he ships....
All you needed to do is ask... Remember Upgrading is NEAT but is it necessary for what your doing...THAT is the question you personally need to ask yourself. Everyone always wants the biggest baddest stuff... But if you really are not going to use it and or SEE it even does in need to be done... when you can spend that money in other places on the car you might need more money and is seen and used more like interior or engine dressing... Thanks for your reply earlier, What gearing would you recommend ? I need something with abit more street punch but able to cruise a little as well on the open roads . My 1971 GS 350 has 2.73 I think , I'll need to look at the numbers to confirm that. Thanks for info & help & Appreciate your time
