Im just looking for a 10 bolt rear end posi center section, my question is what cars or vehicle had a 10 bolt posi? or would it just be easier to swap in a gm 12 bolt or ford 9 inch?

    thanks

Why not just buy a 10-bolt posi unit from one of the suppliers that post here? I got a new posi unit a few years ago made by Eaton for a reasonable price. It works great!

Some of the larger GMs like the Caprice and Roadmaster had the 8.5 posi units in them.

Also the firebirds and camaros, late 70s - early 80s I think

The "sportier" models that had them are usually picked thru already, so the bigger cars are the most reliable source IMO

Second only to EBAY of course......

    10 bolt to fit what car? Your 69 Riv? It's a monster 9 3/8" 12 bolt-no aftermarket support.

If you have the time and if there are several junk yards around, scout for the rivi's 67-70 and peek to see if the rear end has a metal tag and/or look for the X with a circle on the left hand tube. Of course I've also seen them on ebay for a good chunk of change. Having 3.42 posi in a big car is tons (about 2 tons) of fun!!!:TU:btw when I found mine I just has to shim up the clutch pack...not that difficult can pick up shims from a rear end shop. There was plenty of clutch material, nothing really special about the big buick posi rearend...
