Maybe a question for Jim(Monzas)? I have a factory 3 series posi that was modified by Mark Williams, and had 33 spline side gears installed. I would like to put 31 spline side gears back in it. I could do used, or new. I also have a brand new 4 series carrier and a set of 4.10's, but I only want to run a 3.42 or 3.55etc., so the 3 series carrier will be better for me, plus I have brand new 31 spline Moser axles. No such thing as 31 spline side gears for a Chevy 12 bolt 8.875 it is 30 spline. Yes you can buy them and they will fit inplace of the 33 spline side gears. NORMALLY you have to buy the complete 4 spider gear kit in the aftermarket. You do not want to get mismatched spider gear system as that will make the posi weak and it may fail prematurely. You can pull the 4 series spider and use them in the 3 series. I hope you do not have 31 spline MOSER axles as they will be totally usless in a 12 bolt chevy rear. I will look and see if I still have some 30-spline. Yes,get the matching spider gears with them,as there were different styles and tooth-count.
Ok, 31 was a typo. 30 spline, factory spline. I have a new in box Eaton 4 series I'll be selling, along with brand new Richmond 4.10's. The axles are brand new 30(stock) spline axles. Thanks for the replies. Will send a PM Jim for price on that side gear/spider kit.
