I have a 68 (original)12 bolt and the pinion seal leaks. New seal installed however there is a groove in the yoke. Does anyone have part # for a speedy sleeve or is it best to replace with aftermarket yoke? If so what brand and part # is the best??
    Thanks in advance

Looks like the redi-sleeve # 99170 should work with that yoke and the 8460N seal.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

    I thought 1968 Buicks were 10 bolts?

You counting the cover bolts or the ring gear bolts.
When we say 10 and 12 bolt we are talking about the RING GEAR BOLT count NOT the cover bolt count.
ALL full size cars in the 60's were 12 bolt rears (ring gear bolts)
The 68 69 70 era Canadian built cars got a Chevy default rear in many BOP cars. why??? I do not know why just had so many or they thought less of the Canadian cars to give them a Chevy c-clip rear??? I do not know why?

The Canadian cars built in Oshawa got Chevy rear ends because Chevv & Olds & Buicks & Pontiacs were built on the same lines. Why import a rear end assembly when u already have good product available

From what I read...Chevy 12 bolts never got the posis in the Canadian cars... It was like a low grade rear in the day. Remember Chevy was not highly thought of by the other GM divisions back in the day... It was a poor man fix it car.

If I remember, and u ordered a 1070 Chevelle, which I did, with 300hp (or greater), u got a 12 bolt chevy rear & u would get a posi if u ordered it & I did. So it would appear that logic would apply to Buicks & Olds built in Oshawa. Less that 300 hp, u probably got a 10 bolt & u could order a posi even with a 6 cylinder engine.

    I had an original Canadian-built 69 442 4-speed that came with a 12-bolt Chevy 3:73 posi.
There were plenty of low-powered cars that got 12-bolt Chevy rears with or without a posi.

Write BUT THAT is on an order.
I am talking standard on the line builds for dealers. NON Customer order.

BAck in the day if you had the money you could get what ever you wanted.
The dealer would even install it for you if the factory would not.
    They just wanted to sell.

Now you can not get any help at all in a dealer. They will not even get up out of their chair...lol
