I got a 12 bolt from a junk yard and had a question about it. This is what the guy at the yard told me. The back ground is that a guy got it for his kid to put in his 69 cutlass the kid never did and the guy got tired of triping over it in his garage so he traded it to the yard for some stuff he wanted for himself. I don't know how old it is or if it's after market or stock, I'm leaning toward aftermarket. I don't know much about B O P stuff only Chevy. This axle does not have C clips or even the grooves for them, it has (9 inch style) bearings on the axle shafts not in the housing. My question is, is this aftermarket or did B O P 12 bolts come like this?:Do No:
It's going to go in my 72 Suncoupe.:bglasses:

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Aaaaaah, don't use it. That is an Olds 12 bolt and they are expensive to build or find parts for it when you need to rebuild it.

If you car is not a serious strip car....use the 8.5" rear you have in it now....parts are very cheap and you can get all kinds of gear sets for it.
