I just scored a set of 4 Buick rally's at a local junk yard. I found codes on the backside and was hoping someone could tell me their application. Wheel #1: stamped on rear inner area: 14X6 JJ 50991 0284 MWI stamped on rear wheel edge: MT 7 13 WX Wheel #2: stamped on rear inner area: 14X6 JJ 50991 6 23 84 MWI stamped on rear wheel edge: MT 7 13 WX Wheel #3: stamped on rear inner area: 14X6 JJ 50991 0284 MJI stamped on rear wheel edge: MT 7 13 WX Wheel #4: stamped on rear inner area: 14X6 JJ (other numbers hard to read) stamped on rear wheel edge: M4 VN These are chrome style. Appear to be 70-72 wheels to me. ?? I'[ll see if I can get some pics posted later. Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Bob
14x6 wheels with 5x4.75 bolt pattern and bead type JJ where available from 1973-1987. Wheels 1-3 with application code WX and rim code 991 are 1978-1987. Wheel 4 I couldn't find but it would be 1973-1987 because of JJ bead type. __________________ Sean Smith BCA# 42746
Bob, Most 69 rims I have found always had the M4 with a '9' under it (denoting year). Duane did a VERY NICE write up from the BPG 'Build Sheet' several years ago all about 1969 rim decoding. I would contact Brad Conley (on this board) to see if he can supply you with an old issue. :Brow:
