15 x 6 tire width limit?

    Looking to buy a set of buick wheels from a board member, they are 15 x 6 per stamping on wheel.I have 15x8 ET II's right now and run a 29"tall x 9"wide (3:73's) tire in the rear...will these fit safely on 6inch wide wheels? I did some trimmimg so width clearance is not the issue, safety is.
