Getting ready to order 15x10's for a set of 295/50-15's but am still considering going with the 275/60-15's drag radials. The problem is the 275's are limited to a 9.5" wheel. Is a 1/2" that critical or should I get a smaller rim? I think Specialty Wheel will make a 9" or 9.5" wheel, just want to get it right the first time.

    Thanks,
    Ken

Hi. Specialty Wheel will not make a 9 or 9.5 rim. I tried. The 275's are not big enough for the 10" wide rims. Best rim is a 15x8 for those tires. I used to have a set before going to the 15x10's. I got both sets of wheels from Specialty.

If you go for the 15x10's, you'll need 5.5" to 5.75" backspacing. My particular set has 5-5/8" backspacing. Good luck.

Thanks for the info Phil. Have you tried the M&H muscle car drag tires yet? Are these tires drag radials or bias plys. If I went with the M&H's what should I use up front?

I have not tried those tires, but am considering them when my DragRadials "wear out." The N50's are actually .9" less wide according to the Jegs catalog, but same diameter as what I like to have in the rear wheel wells.

I would say just a good radial up front would be fine with them.
