finally got it all done! The wheels are from Specialty & tires are BFG drag radials 325/50-15's. It took a little tweaking as Phil stated in earlier posts but no rubbing issues. Thanks again Phil for being the guinea pig! Time to hit the track. The car pictures are in members rides.

Scott, I recently changed out the rear from the stock 2.93 ratio to a 10 bolt with 3.55's so now with the taller tire I can still drive on the highway. The torque converter is a Kenne Bell switch pitch. I took it out yesterday and doing about 55mph I think (need to change speedo gears) I was @ 2800rpm.

Ken, are you running the stock rear springs? Your car has a nice stance to it!
What backspacing do you have on the wheels?

    skitzofrenic66 What's an Import?

i want to eventually run those meats in the back of my car. how tall is the tire? in inches i mean. i know a 275/60 is about 28'' and a 295/50 is slightly shorter. i want to go with weld wheels but i cant decide whether i want 15x4's or 15/7's up front.

The 325/50R15 is also 28" tall. I run these tires on a 15x10 rim with 5-5/8" backspacing. It's tight and you do have to trim the top of the wheel well about 3/8" for no rubbing problems. But they're HUGE under there and will strike fear and terror into the hearts of ricers and Chebby boyz alike!

I love telling people that they're the stock fender wells and that Buick made them that big on purpose so we could fit tires big enough to handle the engine's torque.

I think the springs are from a station wagon, at least that is what I was told. The wheels have a 5.5" back spacing but 5 5/8" would have been better, I have more room inside than out & I did do some trimming and slightly rolled the fender up away from the tire. I currently just have a single air bag on the passenger side but might buy another we'll see how it does over time. The actual tire height off the car was 27.5" with 20psi. It definitely gives the car a mean look. I got allot more thumbs up with the new tires than with the smaller 245's.
