Decent, driver wheels. Shiney chrome, NO road rash. Slight almost unnoticable little imperfections take these from being really nice, to just 'driver nice'. I beleive these are original to a 65-66 Riviera but should fit Wildcat & Leslaber as well. Matching SET OF 4, codes as shown in FIRST PIX BELOW... however, the '5th wheel', kinda off to the side in the next pix, is a different wheel, same 15x6 - 5on5, but coded "JJ".

WHY NOT replace those 'hubcaps' on your Rivi, Wildcat or LeSlaber with these rallye wheels and you'll see an immediate "sportier" look!!!
Sorry, no centercaps or lugs, just the wheels.

$250/5 plus s&h. Reasonable offers considered! :Brow:

    Wheelz,

there should be a three number code starting with a 8 or 9, or a two letter code starting with a W or V. This will help identify what generation it is. There is a sticky under the "hides" section of this board to help identify Buick rally wheels.

ThanX for the feedback J.R. I'll take a look at that thread sticky, meanwhile, I am not really sure where those codes are? Here are a few more pix of the codes in question...maybe this will help decipher? Wheelz, Tampa Bay

Look on the backside of the rim on the ledge where the wheel weights would sometimes be mounted. I have found them there. You may have to scuff off sum of the corrosion to find it. Or, they may be in a different location on the inside of the rim where you found those other markings. You may have to hunt a little and look on several different rims to find them.

Ok. according to the aforementioned Wheel SPEC SHEET sticky, here's what I've found:

    p/n 1231960
    15 x 6
    5 on 5 bolt pattern
    3rd generation wheel design
    1966-67 applications
    NON disc brake vehicle
Dark Metallic GREY paint, satin finish

Good job Wheelz. How were you able to cross reference them, did you find a code?

Well lets see here. . ...
    65's #2 design has a 2 inch center cap hole, 66-67 3rd design has a 2-1/8 inch cenercap hole.
Since I COULD NOT decipher codes according to that particular chart, I did take note. . . there are TWO VERY CLOSE versions listed for 66-67 and 67-71, the later has 5/8 hole for the valve stem while the 66-67 has a 7/16 valve stem hole.

Derived from this data, I CONCLUDE ALL 4 of the wheels I am offering are the 66-67 type. :Brow:

Very good Wheelz, but shouldn't that generation have a register ring on the inside? I don't see one in the pics. Do you see signs that it was removed?

Wheelz-While they may 'look' the same to many, the numerous changes in these wheels and also with the differences in the cars themselves fool many folks and have led to wheels obtained that don't fit right. The wheel pictured appears to have possibly had the register ring (used from '66-'70)knocked out. This is often done when the wheels are used with a larger diameter hub than the OE application=such as on an early Riv-(and then spacers also have to be added) They look like decent wheels -good luck

...dont get me wrong, I DO appreciate your input but, these are NOT a SHOW set of wheels, they will more-than-likely not go on a concourse car... whether or not they have registration marks/spots/indicaters or?, according to the directory YOU linked me to, these will look GREAT AND WILL FIT/FUNCTION on any DRIVER 65-67 Wildcat, LeSlaber or Riviera. :beers2:

Guys, I'm sorry I sound frustrated but I'm fairly ignorant because, this is the first time I've ever dealt with 5 on 5 big car wheels in my 45 years, working with Buicks  .....I HAVE NO IDEA what a registration ring is OR where it was, or where it should be. I dont see any indications of ANY ring??
The fello I got these wheels from owned several 65 & 66 Rivieras and a 66 Wildcat. I dont know why someone would 'knock out' a part of a wheel but I doubt he would've done it.
Nevertheless, I can only go back to that wheel chart as an indicator of what vehicles these wheels were intended for as I have spelled out above.

..and I THOUGHT selling these was gonna be quick'n easy. :Dou: :spank:

    Don't give up.....

I've only ran the bigger buicks myself, and I've never been able to figure these road wheels out either.

At risk of getting flamed :af: YEOOOOWCH !! - the 'register ring' is found on the rear side of the wheel, and is welded to the outer edges of the hub, where all the webs meet. The one pic you have of the rear of the wheel looks like there may have been one on the wheel. All wheels '65 - '70 had register rings, with the '65 having a 2" dia. centre cap hole, and '66 -'70 had 2 1/8" holes, as you stated. There were no register rings on the '71 up wheels, and they had 2" dia holes, along with a few other differences shown in the chart.
All in all, they look like decent 'driver' ralley wheels at a fair price.
Good luck with your sale !! :beer :TU:

Dan - not to add to the confusion, but '65 wheels have register ring too, with a smaller 2" dia. centre cap hole. :TU:

You need to understand people are gonna ask questions. This is not the first time you've sold something and not the first time you overreacted to a question. RELAX
