Apologies if this has already been covered but I did spend some time searching and did not come up with a definitive answer

I am looking to buy a set of staggered 15x7 and 15x8 reproduction chrome rallys for my '66 Skylark. The car has the stock 10 bolt rear-end. Front has a disc brake kit.

I like the look of a little less BS and a little more "dish" to the wheel so here is what I am hoping i can run --

    Front
    Wheels -- 15x7 with 4" BS
Tires -- BFG Radial TAs 235/50/16

    Rear
    Wheels -- 15x8 with 4.5" BS
Tires -- BFG Radial TAs 255/50/16

Can someone please confirm that this setup will work? I am concerned I may need more BackSpacing, particularly in the rear.

Many thanks in advance for any advice :TU:

I'm using the 15x7 Buick wheels on a couple of mine. 255/60-15's are very tight on the outside at the fender lip....I can just fit my fingertip in there... it may rub under some conditions.
The Buick 15x7's measure 8" outside edge-to-edge. Backspace is 4-3/8" to the outside edge.

My blue '66 has a 12 bolt rear which is an inch narrower. That half-inch per side centers the 275/60-15's nicely. So a little more backspace than stock is ideal.
To summarize, a 15x7 wheel should have 4-1/2"+ backspace, and a 15x8 wheel should have 5"+ to fit a 255/60-15.
A half-inch more should work even better.
