I have ready many posts for what im looking for and most conflict each other here is what I want to know 15x8 fronts buick rallye with 255-60r15 tires do they fit without rubbing. yes new springs and stance is similar to original gs with back end lower then front. on 65 special with stock 15x7 or with 15x8 with 5 inch backspace looking for biggest tire size for either slicks or drag radial. 27 in or 26 inch tall.
WOW actual crickets! Can't believe the lack of response. I run 255/60 on 15x7 all around. I will get a little rub on the front when more than just me is in it and I turn sharply into my driveway where there's a little dip. I never suggest putting 15x8 on the front, they are just too heavy and make the car steer and handle bumps poorly.
Hi Steve. Been looking at your wheels all week but I want to go same size all around. I have weld draglites on it now. 15x7 frt. 15x8 rear with 3.5 backspace and put disc brakes on rear which was just enough to make them rub outer flange of 1/4 panel. So looking at different rims
I have 15 X 7 Rallye wheels with P255/60R-15's on the front of my GS. There is no problem with rubbing at all. If you put that tire on an 8" wide rim, the section width will increase by .4" total. I think it is possible, but it will depend on the ride height and condition of the suspension. I believe Jason (Jaystoy) runs 8" wheels in the front of his GS. http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?7526-jaystoy http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?265726-15x8-s-on-the-front&highlight=
I had P255/60R-15's on 15x8s on the front, and would get occasional rubbing on certain bumps when turning. I now have 245/60/15 on the same 15x8 with no rubbing (self promotion here) you can see details on Car Fix
