Just got my hands on a 66 Skylark GS. It currently has 14 x 6 buick rallys all around. I'd like to put 15x8 buick rallys on it (with 4.5 inch backspacing) with BFG 255x60x15 rubber

can anyone please tell me if this will work up front or will it rub up against the fender??? I suppose I can always go 15x7 up front if I have to

    Thanks for the help

Also, can anyone recommend a good place to buy em???

    15 x 8 's ? huh , i have 70's 15 x7 's with the 4 3/4 backspacing .with 255/60 -15's on the back. with the stock 66-67 rearend , they just barely fit on the outside .yet there is maybe 1 1/2 " of usable space on the backside . ive always wondered if you get 5 3/4 " or even 6 " backspacing 15 x 8 wheels made up

oh yeah , up front ,first with 430 , i have 455 springs from a '69 grand prix as are the disc brakes with the two piece rotors . with the 15 x 7 's with the 4 3/4 backspacing i run 215/70 15 bfg's . which still barley fit .i did very little trimming to the wheel well chrome on both side s . i believe this is the biggest tire fit with this wheel and no lifts or rubbing .

Hi Mark, Welcome to the board! :beer
Did you buy the GS on e-bay recently? There was a gorgeous Seafoam Green car listed before Christmas...
And maybe this is your car...?

It's a small world, us V8Buick guys know most of the GS's on the planet!

I'm using 15x7's on most of my cars....255/60-15's are a tight fit on the rear, and might rub on the outside fender lip. If the rear is higher than stock, they'll probably fit okay.
255's are too large for the front, you're better off with 235's.

Wheel Vintiques sells repo Buick mags, in various sizes.

Looks like the 8's have the same offset as the 7's, so fit should be the same. Better yet, order the 8's with more backspacing.

corker tire sells reproduction buick rims. i have a 65 skylark and was test fitting wheel and tire combo's. i found that a 15x8, 4.5"b/s with a 275 60 15 would hit the outter fender well with an inch of room on the inside. i would look into a 15x8 with 5" b/s and a 255 60 15 would fit with ease since i have 17x8 with 5"b/s with 255 45 17's on mine now and they fit like a glove. stock ride height. good luck.

    Thanks

Thanks everyone for the advice -

Walt -- you guessed it, the seafoam green car was the one I bought!!! I'd been regretting selling my Cream on black '66 Lark w/the 340 (also a #s match Cali black plate car) and just happened to come across the Seafoam Green one on eBay. I was shocked no one had bid on it and the Buy It Now was reasonable, so I jumped on it. Figured I'd give myself a lil holiday present!!

Thanks for the advice on the rubber -- I will likely run 15x7s up front with 235s and 15x8s on the back with 255s. The back is lifted 1" over stock height so I think I should be OK

Will look into Wheel Vintiques... Thanks again for the help and would love to see some pics of your 66s. Will post mine as soon as I take some of it!

    Best,

    Mark
