Rivieras came with a 140 mph speedo from 1963-1967.And the '83 Indy 500 XX Anniversary Riviera came with a 140 mph speedo, too. Never seen a GS witha speedo over 120. Trans Ams had a 160 mph speedo until '76.
Cars exported out of the USA might may speedos calibrated in kph instead of mph. a 120 mph unit would be replaced by a 200 kph unit.:TU:
Here's why I was asking... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...viewitem=&item=350109210935&_trksid=p3907.m32 I didn't think there was such a thing either but being kinda new to the buicks, wasn't 100%. I remember my dad's old '70 TA having a factory 160 speedo though so wasn't sure if it was maybe a rare option for the gs or something. Guess someone just made a new face plate and recalibrated the speedo accordingly...
Doubt I'll have the potential to wind it up that high right now but it would be pretty darn cool looking!
