Hi Guys, I believe a 17"x8" rim will fit on my 72 Skylark, but I would like to be certain so I thought I would throw the question out there.I am looking at the Vintage Wheel Works V40's.Thanks for the help,Cheers Curtis:laugh:
As long as the backspacing is correct for a 8" wheel(4 1/2"), it will fit. The 17" diameter actually has nothing to do with it if you think about it. Same as a 14, 15, 16, or 17" wheel. To keep the overall tire diameter the same, you have to use shorter sidewalls as the rim diameter goes up.
Thank you, I should have posted that the rims also have 235/50/17 tires om them.I think the overall height is about 26".That was the part that concerned me with the tire width. Thanks:beer
I have a set of Torque Thrust mags that are 17x8.They have a 4" backspace. Will the 4" backspace work on a 72 Skylark?
