17x9 in the rear, how much back spacing ? how much is too much

    looking at the AR torq thrust m, the 17x9 only comes in 6.77in back spacing, is this too much ?

    This won't be a huge help, but I bought some 17x9.5 with 5.5 bs and the seller (a 2nd gen camaro guy) seems to think they will fit perfectly.

    Hi, that's way too much backspacing for a 70-72 Skylark/GS. An 8" wide rim typically has 4.5" and a 10" wide rim has @5.5" to center the wheel in the wheel well.

    That much backspacing sounds like something for a more modern car like a Camaro or Mustang.
