The 68-69 fans have always looked at wear and tear items on the low mileage cars. The argent around the headlight switch, ignition, and heater controls.. Then pedals, and several other items. First thing I looked at in the ad were those areas for an idea on mileage.. Then it's interior, engine finishes, and inner fenders.
That engine compartment does not look like 18K miles. One small thing I look for are the plastic clips (68 only that I reproduce) along the passenger side valve cover, those break very easy but its odd to see them missing on a very low mileage car. They have been messing around in the bay putting in a new booster but I would think the clips would be there. But who knows, a lot can happen over 55 years and cars were not treated as collectors items their whole lives. I think the mileage is correct if it is original paint, no way a 118000 mile car in MA could survive without any rust. I would throw a set of rallys on it and drive it as, I not am fan of doggies. This is a photo a very low mileage skylark engine with the clips. And a very high mileage engine with them still enact. am
