Has anyone ever seen a 69 skylark with this set-up? if this won't work, i'm also thinking of going 18x8 in the front and 18x10 in the rear. anyone have ideas or pics of similar set-up?

Phil It really *is* a 350...

Most of the threads on the boards kind of hit tire/wheel combo ceiling at 17x8 front and 17x9 rear with 245 or 275/40-17 fronts and 275/40 or 315/35-17 rear tires.

I'm not sure you wouldn't encounter some kind of interference with a 18x10 rears. I do know it'll be awfully close.

I was going to go with some 17" steel Cragars

    Cragar #260-3978834
    Soft 8 397 Series Wheel
    Finish: Black
    Size: 17'' x 8''
    Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-3/4''
    Rear Spacing: 4-1/2''

At $71 each they're pretty damn affordable. They also allow me to put on some 245/40-17 fronts and 275/40-17 rears and afford better tires (I'm looking at Nitto NT-01 or NT-555). Although aluminum wheelss are attarctive, I'm really looking at dayily driver durability and a little bit of a "sleeper" factor.

phil- thanks for the reply. i actually tried on 20x8 boss 338 wheels from my neighbor's 71 chevelle. no issue on the rear, but when i tried to do a u-turn, there was rubbing from the front. i'm sure 18x8 in the front will have no issue. keep a look-out for pics coming soon....thanks again! :beer

I'm in the same predicament right now, can't decide if i wanna go 20's all around or 20 x 10 rear and 18 x 8 front. The Boss 338 are the exact wheel im looking at too.

what kind of car do you have? i actually put 20x8 on one side (borrowed my neighbor's) and the front rub. they probably would not have rubbed if i did not have eibach lowering springs. i may have to go 18 in front and 20 in back...do not want to cut anything.
