    1959-1961 Electra 225 4dr - wanted!

Wanting a restorable, complete (and solid) 1959-61 Buick Electra 4dr. I prefer a 225 Riviera 4dr hardtop sedan. Cash if reasonable, or have a nice 100% rust free 1995 Lincoln Town Car (worth around $2000) I will trade for one. Must be solid and prefer southeast USA - if can help with shipping, would be awesome. *I also have a 1972 Chevy Caprice Kingswood Estate 3-seat, 9-passenger wagon (clamshell gate style) with a factory big block, excellent original interior (needs some engine work) that I would consider trading (worth around $3500), depending on how nice the Buick is. I found one I am thinking of buying, but wanting to see if anything else out there. Will also consider 4dr LeSabre or Invicta. Factory A/C is a plus!!

    Thanks in advance.

Are you on Facebook? There is a guy in the 1950-1960 Buick group that just posted a photo of his 60 225 4 door "six window" for sale.

Question: Did Buick officially use the Riviera name for the model year 1959 and 1960 hardtop models :Do No: ?
It's not mentioned in the 1959 Buick brochure :Comp:

    ''All of Craigslist' search:

    1959 Buicks :Comp:

    1960 Buicks :Comp:

Yeah, I am Facebook, I will have to look that page up! Thanks! I have also added that I will consider LeSabre or Invicta, as well as 1961 models.

Hmmm... I am not sure, but I have often heard the hardtop 6-window referred to as the Riviera hardtop. Maybe that was the case with the '55 models, because my grandfather had a '55 Special 4dr hardtop that was referenced as the Riviera hardtop sedan.

Actually, if you look at the red Electra on this page, it calls it a Riviera hardtop sedan - it is also in red text above the car...

Thanks Tom! Beautiful car! How much are you asking? I am looking for something more along the lines of needing restored or something I can trade one of my cars for, as cash is very tight. Thanks for sharing photos of it, it is a beauty!

I see that now, thanks for pointing that out :TU:
I knew about the early 2 drs and 4 drs Riviera hardtop models, but I was wondering about the "new design" 1959 and 1960 Buicks.

Please keep us informed about your search, I will keep an eye out for you on Craigslist.

No problem! I am not sure how long that lasted though. I am not sure if they carried over the "Riviera" name into '61 or not. I will have to look.

Hey - well not too great. lol. I still do not have the car roadworthy. You probably know the long history of engine problems. lol. Well I have replaced everything I know and the car is still very low on power. I have ruled it down to being the carburetor or something else. There was a guy on the wagon site that was going to send me a good Quadra-Jet carburetor to try out to see if that was the problem before buying one or having mine rebuilt, but strangely he never sent it, even after asking twice... it was going to be in the mail "next week"... well that was about 12 weeks ago, LOL. I never bothered asking again. Well anyway I had been thinking of just taking the car to a shop when I could afford it and have them go over the engine and see what is going on with it until I found a fairly local 1960 Electra 225 that I fell in love with and now I have the "fever" for a 1959-61 Electra 225 4dr, lol. It needs a lot of restoration, but at least it is running and I don't know if I am just tired of the wagon now. It is still a cool car and a lot of people have tried to buy it from me, but I would rather trade it. I have about $5000 invested in it and could never get anywhere near that for it, but have thought about maybe selling for $3600 or so, again or trade for one of these Buicks (if that is possible) or a Country Squire wagon. Not really sure what I want yet.

I also still have my 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville sedan - I just parked it though... no reason other than it was a gas hog, lol. I need to start driving it though before it ruins.

Well here is my wagon back in the summer after some detailing... then the lower pic was just before Christmas. The interior is still like new, but the outside as you see is starting to need some attention... Thanks for asking! Hope all is well! Happy New Year!

No need to look, I know that they used the Riviera name for model year 1961 (Electra 225 4-drs hardtop, model 4829)
I was just wondering about 1959 and 1960 because they don't list that in the ''Standard Catalog of Buick 1903-2004'' :TU:

Tom posted his telephone number, or you could send him an e-mail through his profile :Comp:
