    Hi.

I am REALLY new to all of this, so forgive my ignorance.

I am having an engine rebuilt for my 62, and while everything is out, I thought it might be worth having the tranny gone through. I am finding out that this may not be a good idea since the tranny is one nobody seems to want to touch.

Prior to removal, it seemed to work just fine; however, it was leaking some fluid.

Is it possible to just have some seals replaced without messing with the rest of the transmission? Maybe then I could get someone to take a look at it.

Why are mechanics so wary of this tranny?

    Thanks.

    BT
