    Hi James,

    Is the car close to you? I'm interested in the engine but would like to have some one hear it run.

    Thank you,
    Gary

    I talked to them back when it was $2000 for the whole car. I couldn't even get out of them if they could turn the engine over by hand. seems like there was something funny about the engine codes. I sent them diagrams of where to find the code on the front of the engine to make sure it was a 425, but they came back with the vin, and then something that didn't fit for a 401 or a 425. Probably just didn't clean it off well enough to read it right.
    I would have taken a look at it but it's a long drive and through the city at that.

    David,

    It is relatively close to me.

    Touch base with the seller to make sure you are interested and I can go give it a listen.

    James;

    If you are close by you probably know how long he's been advertising this car.
    I have thought about making the journey up there several times to see what the casting numbers are on the front, and if the thing can turn over by hand. All gravy after that I figure.
    Every time that I have a couple of bucks in my pocket I think about going up there but it's a full day on the round trip, through Seattle, and $50 - $70 in gas since I would have to bring the truck, just in case.
    I was talking to my wife about this one again just last night and I may have a couple bucks to go shopping soon so any information at all would be appreciated!
    When I got my 64 I pretty well decided that it was going to be a 425 car (despite the many people on here who advise against it!). This one would have the 400 instead of the two speed tranny in it also, and more important, that means that it has the crank for the 400 and you don't need an adapter bushing to run a more modern tranny or a manual.
    If you find yourself out that way I would love some information on this car. I would hate to pay for a trailer plus gas and come home empty because the engine was froze up or the code was for a 401.
