Just bought a 64 buick special wagon that needs a rear bumper.

    Looks like this:

Doing some research, it turns out it's the same bumper as a 64 Vista Cruiser. Still can't find one of those either.
    Thanks,

I have 2 cores. One of them is on EBay the other still on my car. Photos are on ebay.

    My ebay name is 197064buickspecial

I see five items that you have for sale on ebay but none of them are bumpers ;) Can you link your auction here or post some pictures? Are they straight? How is the chrome. I guess I'm not sure exactly what core means. Mine is a core but it's $200 bucks to straighten it and another $250 to re-chrome. Shop says they can fix it without issue for $450. I don't need perfect chrome but I do want it to be a lot straighter than mine!

    Thanks

Maybe it ended already. .... let me look.

$450 is a pretty good deal to straighten and rechrome a bumper.

It is but when you only paid 700 for the car, it feels like a good chunk of change!

Thanks for the link to your bumper. I think I'd do just as well to have mine straightened at this point. Thanks for the link!

They are hard to find and the $450 repair and replate is a good deal.

Sounds like you got a good deal on the car too...

    Where are you out of?

Yes, I feel like we got a great deal on the car. Almost entirely rust free top to bottom. But it's been sitting untouched for 10 year under a tree with no window seals so it's really wet. We can't get the tailgate open nor one of the rear doors. There is a lot of surface rust in little places but no cancer.

I'm in Oregon. Quite a ways from you ;) Shipping is the killer. I'd gladly pay 125 for one like what you have at the swap meet but doubling that with shipping wouldn't be cost effective. I'll probably have mine straightened and live with the chrome that's on it. The bumper place says the chrome may crack but it doesn't always. We'll see how it looks. Heck, we may just choose to have it done right but it would be the most expensive part on the car at that point!
