Still selling repro center caps for all Skylark models from 1965 thru 1970. I've been making these since 1987 and still going strong. All my repros now feature a mechanical attachment of the center cap to the wheel. You have to take off the wheel to install the center cap. I'm using a bracket and 2 stop-nuts to hold the cap on and do not use the spring retainer any longer. The retainers were not reliable and this method virtually guarantees that your caps won't disappear when you're at a cruise night having a milkshake. Once when we went camping I had forgotten to bring along a mirror. After several days I wanted to shave my beard. I remembered that I had one of those lug nuts in my back pack. Got the closest shave I had in years. You guys may want to order an extra lug nut for your tackle boxes. I also heard they can be used to attract muskies.
Mitch, I got the 1970 center caps and in a nutshell...INCREDIBLE!!! Thanks so much, these are beautiful! Mike Berkemeier
The A body nut is not the same size as a B or a C body. I suspect they are not the same as an E body but someone that is an E body expert needs to chime in. Acorn lug nuts were never originally made of stainless. They were steel nuts with a cap originally.
