yea, I'm with you! Was saying yum, just like we like to find them until the photo of the ford blue engine paint!! car has a lot of character though...
Who cares what colour the engine is, it looks like the correct 401. This car has all you'd want, cruise, PW, P seat, A/C that apparently still works. If this car was local to me, I'd buy it right now, I wouldn't care to look at the body issues. I love my convertible Electra, but a hardtop with a real roof and A/C would be sweet.
Back in those days, my dad bought a new E225 every year. I seem to recall that one (a coupe) having the gas tank filler door on the DS fender, and the rear window had a vertical "split" in it to bend the glass into two flat panes. If youve seen one you know what Im referring to. Im liking this guy, but hows parts as in the dash pad? Just like everything else, turn on the search screen Mr. Sulu??? ws
Agreed with Marc. Who cares what color the engine is at that price. Guy might've just went down to napa and bought some blue hi temp to detail it with from above. If that car is 1/2 as clean as it looks, buy it and drive it. You can paint the engine the right color for $20 if that makes you sleep at night.
Must have been a '64 Bill, that was the last time they put the filler door on the quarter until 1985 when they came out with the abortions they called Electras. '65 to '84 had them behind the license plate. '65 and '66 coupes both had the folded rear window which I absolutely love. I would love to have this big 9 as a DD!
I couldn't care less about the engine color.. That's a lot of car for not so much doug.. I just thought blue was a Ford engine color, and perhaps I used too few words to express my doubt I would like to see this car being sold for twice the asking, that would be nice for all us big boat owners, but it's as unlikely as winning Power Ball
huge gap between the front fender and door: rear quarter is a different color and the trunk lid also has a big gap: And NO pic from the rear....
The left side gap between the trunk lid left side and upper left qtr panel seems to get larger the farther you go back to the rear of the car in the pic. Is the trunk not closed all the way? Damage to the rear? The gap between the left side bumper corner and the left qtr seems to be excessive - but the photo is dark in this area. Maybe there is damage in the rear? Nice looking car, though. I remember my Dad putting those type of wide whitewalls on the road wheels on Mom's Estate Wagon as a kid. Bling before it was called bling.
Amen. That car is a smokin deal. Under five grand? Come on now. Tighten up a few things. Watch it get flipped and end up on Epay.
Im gonna go with that "folded window"; good term! Yeah, being 8-10 years old, some details elude me once in a while! The 65(?) was a light metallic turquoise (way more blue than green) with an off white vinyl top and a parchment(?) interior with BIG car road wheels. The AC ball vents were metal/chrome and would get frosty. Brand new from Stillwell Buick when they were still in downtown Downers on Main Street. Old building with a second floor showroom as well as the main floor. ws
That car had to be stunning rolling off the showroom floor! Super sharp!! .............Yeah, the A/C in those cars was fantastic, would freeze your ass off!
