I spoke with this seller more than once. He told me it used to be a pristine show winner when he first got it. Life got in the way and it's sat outside in the So. Fla heat and sun. He is located in Pompano or Deerfield Beach, I can't remember which now, not nearly as far south as Miami.
The engine does not run and I don't know if it's seized. He said he was firm on the price, if for no other reason than because of sentimental value because of what it used to be? I don't know.
If someone was serious I would drive down to check it out.

It's brutal to revisit a car that you restored and see it in that condition! I sold my '74 Electra coupe and happened across it 8 years later. I couldn't resist taking a look at it, but shouldn't have.
It was trashed! The exhaust manifold was cracked, steering wandered all over the road and the front seat was loose due to a completely rusted out floor pan. It was driven into the ground.

That car has been for sale for well over a year, maybe two.

Price has climbed also, was under $8k when I was looking for a 65.

I remember seeing it for sale back when I was still looking for a 65.

Says he's owned it 15 years but that style license plate changed in FL about that time. That gives an indication of how long it's been sitting. Not a very nice way to treat a `65 Gran Sport.

I agree, what a shame. I was sent pics of that car from one of the board members here and it was beautiful when he sold it.
