X2 on having a post car. Mine also has the extra trim as in the pic, i believe it is called the sport roof? I am sure to be corrected if wrong. I have not picked out the white yet, would love to go with a pearl but will have to wait on cost 1st, if my business picks up then i will do some pearl. This is going to be a low budget build and so far the budget has been kept cheap but that is about to change when i get into the steering/suspension/brakes/exhaust. The interior when done will cost me around $800 i figure but it will be all black, new carpet and seat covers.

The wheels? I might stick with what i have. But others older fellas have told me these cars looked good with Crager SS's so i may go with that old look too. A friend of mine has them on his Demon and they do look good. Wait and see i guess. I do know my tires are worn and weather checked from sitting so i may have to have a friend of mine fire up the video camera when i finish the tires off for You Tube, then buy new. I do like the look of the new 17"+ larger wheels and they do handle nicer but i cannot justify the expense of it when i personally like the fairly stock look too.

Matt, I expect that Doc and I are about the same age, over the hill. Doc said the stuff that I wanted to say to you. You have a wonderful car that can be a useful project. To me, the rust is a real issue, but that is treatable. Doc outlined how I would approach it. You are from Indiana so rust is more common than it is here in Oklahoma. That cuts both ways: the other classic car restorers you meet will have been through the same problems and have come up with their own solutions. Doc's steps in attacking the body are next, but I urge you to put off thinking about engine swaps. That can be very expensive and time consuming. Right now as you work toward improving the body, you can be learning the next essential step, engine tuning. Start learning now to make the engine you have the best running engine in town. You have to learn that sometime and anything you learn on this engine will be immediately useable on your next engine. Good luck and stay positive. Spring will be here for real soon.

For you 65 guys I will be selling a fairly solid but slightly dented 65 Skylark soon from Tempe AZ . Original white body white top with perimeter chrome(halo) interior is what you would expect for an original AZ stored outside car.
    47,000 miles with ac, 300 2.
I am moving to Fla from AZ so it will have to go.
I will start a thread later this weekend unless I sell it sooner.
Let me know if any of you are interested in it.
