W/o knowing squat about '65s and assuming truth-in-advertising, I like it & I'm not even a huge fan of black cars (for myself).
Don’t like GNX’s? But seriously this looks like a nice car with some great options! If I wasn’t involved in a home purchase I would go see this car!!
That'd be different if I ever had a chance to own one but like Henry Ford said, "Any color as long as it's black" so not much choice there. I did own a black truck once (bought new). Beautiful when clean but couldn't get out of the driveway w/o it being dirty. Probably should've bought the blue one instead.
So for the '65 guys: I know enough to know those wheels aren't orig. Were chrome rallye wheels available? Was there a pass. side mirror avail from the dealer? Did the factory carpet cover the seat mounts? Would be interesting to see the trim tag (orig. black/black top). What else is wrong w/it? Just curious. I'd love to have a '65 someday. Would prefer green & a 4-sp but if I had the space & $ this one would be of interest if truly rust-free/orig sheetmetal. He says "asking." For $20k I don't think one could go too wrong. Would be a blast to drive it to the Nationals!
1965 was the first year the road wheels, rallye wheels, motor wheels, which ever you call them! Were available on the small series! Of the over 200 thousand small series cars produced only around 5000 were ordered with the wheels! But most people have added them over the years! The pockets were charcoal grey not black! Correct date coded ones are very hard to find! Passenger side mirror would be a fixed tri shield ! There is a aftermarket?! Have never found a Buick part # but it is of the same shape as the remote! Could be used! Power bucket used a different bracket to bolt it down than a non power! So there was usually a bigger cut out! I want to say there should be a thin plastic trim that goes around the feet similar to what was used on Riv’s
Nothing wrong ! just not correct!Wheels, Lug nuts, rear seat belts, lock push buttons! Booster and master cap should be gold, cigarette lighter , don’t see antenna, exhaust tips! Just things that I notice! Not wanting to pick on this car ! IT IS A Beautiful looking machine! These cars are over 50 years old and many of the pieces are hard to find and are not reproduced!
Jon, you are correct. There is supposed to be a plastic trim between the bottom of the seat and the carpet. The plastic trim attached to metal brackets that appear to be missing also. Just wondering why new carpet in a car with only32,000 miles. Loren
Thanks! The '70 Stage 1 4-sp I sold to Brett (his current black car) only had 49k & had been garaged most of it's life but needed carpet even though the rest of the interior was darn close to perfect.
Aside from how beautiful this car is, what impresses me the most are the BFG letters that are not brown like mine. I'm so pissed. Gonna do black side out they are so bad. Anyway, beautiful car.
