YES! If the body was built in the last week or two in December it is probable the assembly of the complete car was in January

So if a 65 has the small grill emblem it is a early production car ? My parents have a 65 convert GS 4 speed but don't have any numbers for it just the emblem is small

thats what they say...small square emb is early production...

i actually found one in Tennessee..early 2005..i went and looked at it, but was ruff..no grille emb on the car...when the guy went in to get us some cocktails at 9 am(i should have known right then i wouldnt buy the car from the guy) ...i was digging thru the car, went to the glove box and there it was..a small grille emb.....kinda really plain and not cool, but ive had one in my hands....i didnt even think about looking at the trim tag for the production date...total brain fart...and i even knew about small emb too...just didnt put it together

the small one is about 1/2 to 3/4 by maybe 2 1/2 or 3 and Gran Sport is engraved...its a flat brushed, chrome bar with beveled edges...with red "engraved" letters....best i can remember...actually hard to see on the car...very plain and kinda ugly..

EDIT....i did a search after i posted first..

flip thru this article and see the pics..theres a clear pic of a small badge mounted in a grill
