We bought this in April 2005 and have driven it maybe 15 miles on private property in that time. It's a '65 Skylark sedan with a Wildcat 355, original Seafoam Green paint with green interior. 86,000 miles. Everything works except the clock. Headliner is ripped, it has a few water leaks, the front seat needs recovered, and it needs another hood ornament. Have the original hubcaps in a box.
Yes, and those are only some of our other cars. Got 26 cars, 2 motorcycles, an ATV, and a go kart. Just never registered it when I bought it.
This wasn't supposed to happen... Tyvek tape over the rust around the rear window is suffering a bit: Got it up on the trailer now:
This car is now at the hands of one of my high school aged kids, who has had her learner's permit for exactly one day. Hopefully she doesn't wreck it :bglasses:
Back when I first got it... New water pump...need to put the "Wildcat 355" air cleaner piece back on and install a dual resevoir master cylinder...went to drive it the brake pedal went to the floor (they're fixed now) but that would've been disaster had I been in motion. Exhaust work... Back on the ground this morning...
That's still on the list of things to do. Hate to take the originality away from it, but whoever's driving it needs to be safe...needs some rust fixed as well, eventually. Sliding around in Delaware winters is fun, but it has its consequences.
