Well gents here it is My 65 buick skylark,

I have to say that it at first I was not real keen on the style but every day it grows on me, and I am smitten for sure.

It started about six months ago when I purchased a tall deck 427 Chevrolet from a farmer down state that was in a 1970 dumptruck. I spent 4 months building the motor and it ended up being a 496 ci 650 horse motor by the time I was all finished. But then I realized that it just wasn't meant to be in the 57 chevy 4 door I was working on at the time. So the search began for a motorless 2 door muscle car, I came across this skylark about two months ago and the owner wanted 10,000 for the car complete. But I didn't need the 400 chevy motor and he wanted it for a project he was working on so he knocked 4500 off the price of the car and I picked it up for 5500 bucks. With the help of a friend I spent every day for the next two months 6-12 hours a day after a full day of work getting the car ready to roll. Just a week ago we broke in the motor and a few days later hooked everyhting up and got the power brakes and power steering going. It drives great and stops on a dime even with drum brakes. The best part of all is the way it gets my heart pounding when I drop the hammer it is literally the fastest thing around my town of 9,000 people and it has been a great learning experience.

    Some unique features

    - 496 Stroked big block chevy
    - Hydroboost brakes
    - Electric Driven water pump
    - Solid Motor and Tranny mounts
    - M/T 26x12.50 sportsman pro drag radials
    - 4.10 gears and a 12 bolt out of a 70 chevelle
    - Racing buckets
    - B&M ratchet shifter
    - Custom Hand controls because I am a Paraplegic in a wheelchair

I really like this car because it is big enough that I can load and unload my wheelchair with out much difficulty.

Anyways, I feel like this is a car I could keep the rest of my life. but that may be hard because I have already had offers that would net me a 7500 dollar profit.

Enjoy the pics and thanks for reading

    Thanks,

It goes like crazy and definately pins passengers back in their seats, I get the thumbs up everywhere I go. THe only problem I am having is keeping the belts on at 5500 rpm. I guess I will be getting some Deep V-pulleys

I can just imagine her getting up on the rear tires at a light with the smoke pouring off as the side exhaust tries to clear em off. :3gears:

So much more class than a Chevrolet of similar vintage.

Yep, I got them last night after I got home from work. The only problem was that one of them had one round peg instead of a tab, and it wasn't in the right position so I removed it and it went right on. Thanks for the quick shipping and I will let you know if I need anything else.
