I am putting a TH400 in a 65 Special, that originally had a ST300. I have to move the crossmember back for this. The problem is, there is a raised pad on the frame, where it originally bolted in. If I move it back where it needs to be, it will sit flat, but lower than it did before. I am assuming I need to come up with some type of spacer or something? Anyone do this before? Any ideas??

    Thank you!!

You can use steel plates as spacers, either on the frame or under the rubber trans mount. There might be a taller mount avail.
Ideally, you should check the pinion angles on your driveshaft and rear, then adjust the trans mounting height.
    Other:
The 65-66 console shifters will hit the tail of the st400. Shifter will need some mods for clearance.
Emergency brake cables will need replacement or rerouting, since the crossmember is now further back.

    Thanks Walt!

I like the idea of spacing the center mount. Seems much more simple than working with both ends of the crossmember.
