My 1965 Skylark has Rally wheels on it, with Tri-Shield emblems in the center. The deal for the car included the Skylark's original steel wheels and wheel covers. Last night it occurred to me, "hey, I can take the original red, big-bird Skylark emblems, carefully remove them from the stock wheel covers, and carefully insert them in the Rally wheel center caps." They're the 'spinner' centers.

Do I recall 1968 was when the Tri-Shield emblem arrived?

My surmise is yes, they are removeable, of course, simply by undoing the bolts on the back of the wheel covers. Is that correct? And I'd also guess GM would use the same center emblems whether it be spinner or Rally, but one can never tell!

I don't want to damage these mint, original emblems in any way. I will be reserving the original wheels in perpetuity, so they stay with the car. May even run them, later, I'm finding those stock wheel covers to be pretty cool looking. But for now would like to do what I outlined above. Any advice appreciated.
