Still got this? (Re: 1965 Special Bumper core $75)

    Dear Brian,

I'm still trying to extricate my weary 65 Buick Special wagon from the body shop. Now they tell me that the front bumper they found isn't fitting too well - so . . . .

5 months ago you posted this ad:

A very long time ago, but I can always hope can't I? Has someone already grabbed this bumper?

Thanks for helping us caretakers of "seasoned" Buicks!

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

P.S. Tried to send you a private message but your in-box is "stuffed"!

I've got it still here. I was going to list it on Ebay. Where are you located? If your on the west coast shipping through Greyhound would be about $95. Any other company would be more money from my prior searches.

Also I have the lower retainer for the tail gate glass if you need it.

    Thanks,
    Brian

A suggestion if it helps your sale. I just shipped one FedEx it ran about $35 and that was them picking it up at the house. What I do is get some carpet padding from home depot ($3) and then shrinkwrap it. I got the idea from Duane who wraps up the GSX spoilers this way. Protects it and ad's no weight to the shipping cost. :TU:

Interesting. I used fed ex prior and they told me a low price on their website but then charged me more than double on by bill. They said that they had to revise it. I shipped a quarter panel to CA to a board member.

I also had the same exact style of bumper sent to me from a member in New Jersey and it was $125 to get it to me.

Did you bring it to a fed ex store or had a home pick up? I find this very interesting due to I have shipped allot of bumpers and have had high quotes.

If there is a lower source I would try them as long as it doesn't take me hours of my life to do it.

I did home pick up, just called in the label. easy as pie. I do have an account and it may be cheaper ? I use FedEx a lot so i just got the account.

PS: I was at a Lowes yesterday and they had a clearance on some carpet padding for like .18c a foot  so you might check around, or get some remnents.

Sorry they doubled the price on you , that sucks,.

not to hijack your thread, but....:Dou:

DL, this is a great tip. The last bumper I shipped went Greyhound, (the bus not the dog) I spent two days searching furniture stores to find enough cardboard and two more building a custom box. The local carpet store had enough padding scraps in the dumpster to wrap my bumper and I have a roll of 24" shrink wrap from a former project. Where were you a year ago, when I really needed your advice?:ball:

I'll never have to build another box.:beers2:

    THANX!!!:TU:

    SOLD!
    and SHIPPED.....and received by EDOUARD

Shipping was not cheap through FED X it was over $100 done online. Dimensions killed the price............weight was not the issue.

LowFlyLark Time for a mild custom.

    Congrates on the sale.

FYI. I have an account with FedEx and I ship almost daily. They have been taking my packages on pounds alone and not hitting me up for more money on size. I often have packages that are long but low wieght. Must be a volume thing.
