I have a rear out of a 1966 Riviera GS for sale. Limited slip. 3.42 ratio. Drum to drum. Been sitting for a long time now. In my trailer so outta site outta mind (forgot I had it) $750 obo. Last of my Riv parts.

There is a guy on this Board looking for one for a 66. I recall some of the rear gear experts here saying something is different between a 66 and a 67 rear.

Where are you located GEmerson? Believe only difference in 66-67 axle is size of carrier bearing on one side of differential. Axle housing itself is direct bolt in.

    Yorkville, Illinois west of Chicago.

Has the three mounting bosses for the control arms.

And yes, I really miss my 66'

Is that rear still for sale?
Will it fit a 1966 Wildcat?

If you want another I have 2 of them for sale. Both complete. Both have the 425. Make 1 great car, sell the rest.

The pinon and drive shaft UJoint flange is different. Keep them paired or some machining will be required. If the pinion flange is swapped instead of the ujoint side then I believe the pinion seal will need to be changed. This is all from my memory so double check. In short. I believe there are differences.

Part way through the `66 model year Buick put a larger carrier bearing on one side. There is a `66 service bulletin about it.
