A previous owner went thru great pains and a lot of expense to make this 1966 Bel Air a very accurate copy of a 1966 Maine State Police cruiser. 396 engine with Holley 4bbl carb 3-speed transmission with column shift (Yes, that really is the way they were) Manual brakes Power steering Radio delete Rubber floor covering Certified speedometer Blue interior and exterior color combination The paint, interior and chrome are very nice. The car runs and drives great and is very solid and tight. It is one of the best driving old cars that I have. During my ownership, I have done the following repairs/modifications to the car: New door weather stripping Seat belts re-webbed Front disc brakes with dual reservoir (still manual) Under dash air conditioner New clutch and throw-out bearing Front end suspension work including new shocks New battery I am asking $32,500 for the car and it has a clear title. I'm located in Springfield, MO.
Neat. Tried to sell a '66 Fury I two door post for years on the C Body Mopar site, the NM State Police apparently did use them at that same time period. Must have been neat at that time - to travel among the "disconnected" new sections of Interstate Highway.
Very nice, clean, well done car... I have always been a huge fan of the 65-69 big Chevies. Was screwed out of a turquoise colored 283 SS 1966 when I was younger.Jumped to Mopar and then Buick since then..
Cool car. I think this car was for sale maybe 10 years ago at Goldenrod Garage in Maine. If I'd have known it was this clean I would have gone up and looked!
How many miles on it? Is it a numbers car? How's the underside look or has it been restored. Not inline at the moment
It is a built car, so numbers do not match. The speedo shoes 49K miles but I cannot verify that is the actual mileage. Underside looks nice, but this is not a show car. It’s a very nice driver.
I'm not sure what the car was originally. I believe it was a real Bel Air, but don't know what drive train it had. The dealer I bought the car from did not build it.
At the local DQ show there's guy with a 66 Biscayne 2 dr post 427 3sp on the floor police car... He was telling me about his car when it came out of the factory it had fixed windows in the rear... When he got the car it had roller windows put in at some time... Finding the fixed window parts was like finding a Leprechaun with pot of gold....
