Besides being upholstered in the wrong fabric and it being a low-option car (it does have A/C though) it's not bad; - I'd buy this sort of thing as a beater and then drive it all year round. Nowadays though, it's considered an "entry level collectible" and should probably be preserved and not driven to death.
Nice car; hope it goes to a good home.

OK V-8 Buick People: First, ya gotta see it in the flesh. Next, Custom, a/c, v/t...it's got good equipment. It's red and for those who like red...it's a big plus. It can be detailed and brought up several notches with out much labor and money too.

The price was 9 grand not so long ago. I think $3,500-$4,000 will get it sold. If this car is massaged the right way and is somewhat still full of life mechanically it is and can be a really bad ass Wildcat! If I were a buyer I'd certainly make a play for it. Mitch

Average to low option, Wildcats often had all the goodies especially in a Custom. Was it red originally or is it a quick resale red respray - I see overspray in the wheel well and all over the engine compartment so paint job is amateur at best. The non authentic interior fabric is a shame and just cheapens the cars look. Aftermarket wheel covers as well but at least the originals are in the trunk (and what a mess the trunk is) - $3500 should buy it, not a penny more

It's just got too many doors. I sold my old car and am looking...

    - Which is why I'd buy that one for an all-year round beater. It has too many doors, the interior is "wrong", and who knows the sins that paint is hiding. If this car was actually advertised at $9K a while ago, the I think the owner has seen a bit of the light and just wants to be rid of it. I wonder how may guys went to look and found a "deal killer" and walked away. I get the feeling it's been a few, because Buicks are the cheapest muscle era cars to get into, and if you can't flog one of them cheap, there has to be something horribly wrong...

OK V-8 Buick People: Why so critical? First, this car is priced so much closer to the money than most. Second, it ain't that bad. Third, it is NOT a strippie. While not hard loaded, it's a custom with at least a/c, v/t, full tint. The upholstery? 99% of the Wildcat Custom original vinyl is toast. This is fine. If anyone is that critical, look for a lo-mileage mint original for ooodles of dough that is also routinely and obscenely priced. Mitch

    Topcat Got TORQUE?

You will find no finer "parts car" to restore a rough/rusty convertible or hardtop.SO MANY good parts on that 'Cat....low mile engine.......dash pad.....steering wheel...you name it.

I'd buy it for that alone,

    Peace WildBill

Yeah, if I lived in the States I'd probably be out driving it around; - it's got everything there, it's probably serviceable, and even if it is a lip-sticked pig it would be a lot of fun and probably perfectly alright to use as a runner.

I've already kind of cased it for parts for either of my 'verts; don't really need anything right now...(luckily)...so that would be a free and easy car. To bad it's not in Canada; there's no way to economically import a car from the US, and since I don't have a B-4 business visa anymore, the only way it's getting done is if it's shipped; so not even worth the phone call to try and deal. It'd cost me more to ship it here than to buy it.

Hope it goes to a good home.

Is there proof that it is a low mileage engine or has the car flipped ? ? It's a $3500 car as a driver or drive it a while then part it out for a worthy project.

Anyone in the area that can check out the car?
I may be in position to get it, but would want to know if the front clip is rust-free. And if the dashpad is really crack-free, that would be icing on the cake.
If so, it's what I've been looking for. I'd have to do some begging with the bride, but may be able to pull it off.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Steve

If you can ship, I am interested.....

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

If it isn't full of mud and painted by the "Run Brothers", I'd consider it for a summer beater/cruiser.

It's biggest problem is that it has too many doors, and the market for 4 door large luxury cars isn't there yet. It would be the car to buy if the trend started towards luxury 4 doors, but since there were a lot built, a lot probably survived in some fashion, and although the lines on the car are very nice and proportional, it isn't "inspiring". Even big Oldsmobile or big Caddie 4 doors don't sell well, and I haven't seen a market for big Fords or Mercs either, and nor with 4 door Chryslers.

The only 4 door sedans that sell at all are the European ones; and the price differences between them and their 2 door cousins is also astronomical.

This car is a nice entry or "gateway" car into the hobby; it'll never be worth anything but it is pretty. It's pretty much the same thing with the sedans from the 30s-50s, they peaked when the generation that remembered them could afford them, and then after that they fell off in value. This car is probably at the top of it's game right now, in 10 years no one will even care and wonder why it hasn't been junked yet.

You are wrong. the car will only gain in value. look at 57 chevys- there was a time when only the coupes were worth anything. now it's common to see a restored 4 door at shows and they sell for good money. while a 66 wildcat won't bring the same money as a 57 chevy for sure, it will follow the same pricing trends. sooner or later anything from the 60s that is nice will bring good money, regardless of how many doors it has. of course the more desirable models will always bring more. just the same as a car from the 50s and older does now.

Using a 57 Chevy anything as a comparison to growth value potential for a 66 4 door Wildcat is about as far from realistic as one can get.

didn't compare them at all. used it as an example of the trend.... :error:
