here is my 66skylark GS conv. frame that I have been working on now for about 15 mo.as you can see the frame was in need of some much deserved love.I just figure out how to post some pics so I'll have more to post.
Wow good luck! Now I don't feel so bad about my lower A arm ripping from the frame. Check those BTW. Scott
That was a big job! It's looking great! So, how did you install the front coil springs onto the bare frame? Many say you need the weight of the body and engine to do it safely.
The front springs were very easy. I went to auto zone rented out there spring compressor tool. hook the hooks on about the 4or5 spring from the bottom. keep the hooks left to right and not front to back and thread the other end through the shock tower.some say that they could not get the threaded part through the hole.but mine went right through and simply tighted down.
Looks like that frame was pitted real bad, did u fill and smooth a lot of that out before paint? Mine was just painted and they filled in some areas and it turned out pretty nice.
Looks very nice, I know it is a lot of work, but isn't it nice having to wash your hands before you work on your car??
No I dipped in the acid bath and had the repairs done and then powder coated high gloss black, por 15 sprayed on the inside
