I think 66 may be the best year, and I've had almost all of them. 425 last year for the nailhead rolling drum speedo electric hideaway lights that work untouchable styling GS available What a car! That is a beautiful version of a 66! Can you post more pics? Please? I love mine.
Now thats funny. Can never get those vacuum actuators to work right! Very nice Riv Harley. Tell us the backstory on it.
Well.. I Imported it from the US to the UK in 1995 and completely renovated it between 1995 and 2000 - The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt with stock GM parts, fully balanced and with hardened valve seats installed to cope with unleaded gas. The interior is completely original (no sun damage) and no changes have been made. I had it bare metal re-sprayed in Nassau blue, a period Corvette colour, and had all the chrome trim re-plated (on the exterior this was mainly the bumpers), new running gear included reconditioned suspension and steering and I uprated to disc brakes (from a '68 Riv- just turned the uprights tho' 180) on the front. Other changes include stainless steel exhaust (muffler) system, Mk1 wheel trims, re-carpeted trunk and upgraded electrics. The car has won many trophies for condition and Best Buick at UK Americana International in 1997 All these photos were taken in April this year....oh and the original owner (as enscribed on the plaque below the glove box) was one Frank Day Junior...I'm sure his ghost still haunts the car - when the heater fan starts squealing! I do around 2000miles each season and would like some day to ship it back to the States for an extended tour. I've done this many times on my motorcyles and just love the place. Harley
