I installed an LT1 in my 1967 Skylark. And I want to replace the stock AC compressor with something more reliable than the one that came from GM. I was thinking a Sanden or similar. I had to use an alternator, PS pump and AC compressor relocation adapter that is utilizes a serpentine belt. The compressor is now on the drivers side. I already am re-running all the hoses so the hi side and low side fittings will be modified to adapt from the replacement compressor to the rest of the factory AC system.
Does anyone know what brand and model will work as a replacement? Thanks in advance....KS_Skyhawk

The Sanden would be a good choice, but which compressor are the mounts configured for? (I'm guessing some later model GM unit?)
Are you still using the factory STV/POA valve and Expansion valve, or some other metering setup?

I have eliminated the old POA system for the one that uses a pressure switch.
The compressor I have is a stock GM unit bolted up in the factory manner. It's just been relocated to the drivers side. This was done to adapt the LT1 factory accessory locations to the A Body engine compartment and cross member.
Do you know of a Sanden that will work for my application?

The Sanden would "work". However, there's no way to tell how well without more info, or what would be needed to adapt it to the brackets that you have.
Does the system still have an expansion valve or was it replaced with a fixed orifice?
What type of condenser are you running?

I would suggest staying with a GM compressor that will mount to your brackets. The model would depend on how the rest of the system is set up. (either fixed or variable displacement).
