1967 8.5 Riviera Frankenstien rear end

    Well I am close to getting this to work. What do you think so far?

    Should be able to use FULL 30 spline spool or posi units 2.41-5.57 gears
    used the original 30 spline buick axles
    will use the original 12" drum brakes


    All I have to do is build it now. :)

    I'm glad we have you here to show us what can be done to give our older, obsolete stuff a future in the aftermarket. Kudos.

    I'm curious how you got the diff housing separated from the tubes. Never knew how those were put together.
    Will the same Riv axles work without length modification?

    YEs the stock axles are used from the old 9 3/8 rear for maximum strength and bolt in axles retention for drag racing if needed.

    The housing tubes were cut off and we machined stock to fit inside of the axles then straight bar narrowing jig was used pinion angles were taken from the old rear and listed in a book then to the computer for future builds.
