Does anyone have experience repairing/replacing rusted body mounts. Any words of advice from your own experience would be greatly appreciated.

Would help to know what body mount is bad or which ones. Once I have the info, I can give you some advice.

The 2 body mounts beneath the trunk are bad. The body mount just before the rear wheel is not as bad but may need repair as well.

    Well, you have two options:

    1. Buy new fuel tank/trunk floor supports.

    2. Fabricate the section needed.

I know for the 70-2 models, I just did this on a conv, the floor supports are $89 each and the trunk supports are $40-50 each. Both supports are spot welded to the floor/trunk pans.

You can get supports from www.tabcobodyparts.com and www.opgi.com and
www.nationalpartsdepot.com (they are a Chevelle supplier)

Thanks for the info it is appreciated. I'm a new member here and I'm sure I'll be looking for further advice. While searching throught different forums today I came across the convertible that you restored and sold recently, very nice car. I also read in that same thread that you have a preference for convertibles. My car is a 67 gs400 convertible. Don't be suprised if I come asking for info again. Thanks

I almost forgot, probably not the project your searching for but I'll share it any how. From todays NJ Star Ledger

"Buick GSX 1971 Lime mist green all orig 74K mi 455/auto/air/8 trk. The rarest of the rare 1 of 124 serious buyers only. 44,500 / bo steals this rare bird"

There is a number listed but I'm not sure if it's proper to post it. If you want I could certainly email it.

Your welcome to the info on our site and this one.

$44k is not a steal and is probably overpriced depending on original condition.

If you need anything else, let us know.
