I just spoke with this seller. He was a typical "Minnesota nice" guy. Very nice. Back story is that this car and several others were brought to Minnesota from California in the 90's by some guy that thought he was going to make some money bringing in California cars and selling them in Minnesota.

A deal was made to store them on this seller's dad's farm. The guy owed storage to his dad and eventually gave up on most of the cars, leaving a 67 Skylark non GS car - blue with buckets and console (also on CL) and this 1967 GS convertible.

The car comes with a lot of parts, GS stuff like 1-2 Star Wars air cleaners, GS hood scoops, 3 GS grilles and so on. The original 400 is sold with the car, but the seller said it was stuck. It has a 1973 455 in there now. The Skylark also has a 455 in it and runs, replacing a 350 that was in it.

The car appears to be triple white with a white painted body, white interior, and (had) a white convertible top. The seller stated there is some rust in the trunk, the floor pans are "OK", frame is solid, no mount area rust, rolls easy, is inside stored now. Unsure on posi status but has a tow hitch on it.

He felt the trunk and hood needed replaced but has 3 hoods and 2 trunk lids. I asked about options - I like a low option car - but he was not sure what power options it has. NO TITLE but he had no issue getting a MN title for the Skylark. Car is complete and the buckets and seats still have their material on them.

Probably. I can reach out to him. He is supposed to take another look at it to refresh his mind on the possible rust and parts stash. I will ask.

I am but I am a notorious foot dragger, so it is 1st come 1st serve. He did say he was firm at $3000, but one decent Star Wars air cleaner ought to be worth 10% of that.

Although I need another car like I need another hole in my head, I might go look at this one since it's in my neighborhood so to speak. Let me know if anyone wants to look at it on their behalf. I will try and get picture of the VIN and cowl tags if I go. I am presently on the road for work so this may take a while.

That Skylark is a fun concept too. He said it's like a Nocturne Blue with blue bucket seat console interior. He said he bothered a buddy to sell him a couple of 455's out of rusty Rivieras. A 67 Skylark with a 455 is not a bad car. $3000? Not sure there, but the Skylark has a title.

OK I think I got it - This is a true GS400 convertible. I show it as -- TRIM 193 means SADDLE Interior, not white. T2 shows as Ivory Paint with (original) black convertible top. VIN matches GS400 - 44667 7Z111326 means 1967 Fremont CA.

There is an o3B above the 67-44667 which I have not figured out yet. At the bottom of the tag there is a 4503 070158 which is a ? for me (so far)

Some more research - 03B at the top means built on March 07-13, 1967. I looked at a thread created by prairiecanary - the tag on this car differs from prairiecanarys car. Underneath the trim code on this car - way down near the bottom is 4503 [large space] and finally 070158, no alpha.

I don't know what 4503 or 070158 mean right now.

193 trim is Yellow, not saddle. I don't think there was a saddle option for the '67 GS400. The rest of the numbers are a mystery for Fremont built cars. I am not sure if anyone knows what they mean.

Thanks for getting the info on this car.

When I look at the production figures, only 151 of the '67 GS400 convertibles had the yellow bucket seat interior which makes it the lowest overall production total of six interior choices offered (Aqua wasn't offered in the GS400 convertible, only the sedan and hardtop). Of those 151 cars with yellow bucket seats, 17 were built at the Fremont plant. For you number crunchers, the lowest interior production number for the GS400 convertibles is the white bench seat at the Fremont plant, with only 8 rolling off that line.

Now, someone buy this car and save it. :)

I could not find YELLOW in the on-line searches. In 2 websites, I found 193 to be "Saddle" I did not find yellow as an interior color.

    GS 400

    184,194 Light Fawn 6
    185,198 Black 6
    191 Blue
    193 Saddle
    196 Aqua 6
    197 Red 6

    Team Buick has the following:
    GS 400 TRIM
    COLOR
    CLOTH VINYL CODE
    Aqua 196
    Black 185, 198
    Blue 191
    Light Fawn 184, 194
    Saddle 193
    Red - 197

I am not saying the 2 noted sources are correct. For one thing, the present owner states - "the car is triple white". At some point the black convertible top was changed out for a white one, that explains that. 2. the body color of Ivory is close enough to white and it may have been repainted white. (Just for the record I am not a huge 'white' fan, so Ivory is fine for me, but I don't own the car, just saying) Then - what matches the sellers description of triple white better? Saddle or yellow - yellow does. I just wish all the sources matched up in agreement.

Gary, paying attention to your post here, you make no distinction about what model the 151 of the GS400's were, i.e. hardtops, sedans or convertibles - with yellow interior. Is there any way to narrow it down to convertibles with the yellow interior? What a minute, I am becoming one of those Galen Govier numbers guys! 1 of 151 is fine.
