Here are a few pics of my car. I bought it a little less than a year ago from Craig's list. There are a few pics when I got it, and a few after I worked on it. You can tell by the dates on the pics. I'm still working on it, some things have been changed from these pics already. I worked on this car for over 1k hours from Jan til' the BCA Nats...and I was rewarded for it!
Pinstripes and redlines really woke it up.:TU: Beautiful car. Nice job with your detail work:TU: :TU:
Frank Is that Sapphire Blue? My buddy has a 67 GS 400 Conv that color Yes, redlines and pin stripe look great!
Thanks for the compliments, and yes...it's Sapphire blue w/ a blue interior, matching numbers. I thought the RWL tires really took away from the look of the car. Even though they were almost new, putting the redlines on made a world of difference. Then I thought the red pinstriping would really make it pop, and it did! Something about the red on the emblems and grille bar, it just all came together. Everywhere I go, peeps comment on the tires and pinstriping. Even the folks at Hemmings liked it, I took down a best musclecar award there last summer at their Cruise-in. I don't own a trailer, I drive my cars everywhere. The Buick hit all the NE states this summer!
Frank, From one 67 GS400 owner to another, I can say you did a great job on yours! Now you got me thinking about red pinstripes:idea2:
What heat hose did you use for the heater core to the engine? Love the color and the red stripes too!
Thanks guys! Ed...the heater hose is a GM repro w/ GM + the part number on it from my Olds stash. The number is 393530, it's from Fusick and is a 66-67 442 hose. It's a dead perfect fit (for 67 GS400) . My car is an auto, it clears the dipstick tube, the modulator line, + Star Wars air cleaner perfectly. It's a molded hose, no mods neccesary and appears somewhat correct except to an expert. I went to Fusick and looked at all their molded hoses, picked and this one out. The downside is, Buick original hoses were not stamped like that, and it won't fit in the bracket on the heater box, I just took my bracket off for now. I'm still working on that htr hose, I'm going to find the perfect piece and I'll post when I do. But if you want a correct appearing hose, this will do. It's 25.50, if you google that number, the words hose + Fusick....then the link...then click on the part number...you can get a good look at it. It goes on just as it sits in the pic. I also know there are a lot of peeps trying to resto these cars, so I'm going to share my experience and knowledge with you guys, cuz' you've been helpful to me. Keep an eye on me for more tips + tricks for 1967 GS + other Buicks!
Thanks Greg, your car looks like it's coming along fine! Maybe Santa will bring you a front clip! Happy Holidays!
That is probably the only one I wish I had never sold. ou: It was a one owner when I bought it. Solid as a rock, just needed some lower quarter work. Engine done at TriShield, did 374 HP on the dyno. Enjoy!!! Harvey
